About Us
We're the link between family farms and hungry bellies
Our Mission
Full Belly Foods, formerly Central MA Food Rescue, was founded in 2020 with the mission of connecting fresh, high-quality food from local farms to people in need. The COVID-19 pandemic exposed and exacerbated the deep inequities in food access across the United States, highlighting the urgency of our work. Today, we partner with charitable foundations to fund and coordinate free deliveries of farm-fresh produce to low-income housing communities and we raise funds through grants and grassroots donations to provide fresh produce to food banks, soup kitchens, food pantries and more. Together, we’re ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry.

Meet Our Founder
Ben Sigel, the founder of Full Belly Foods, graduated from Emory University's Goizueta Business School in May 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Inspired by the alarming amount of produce being wasted due to restaurant closures, he took action by renting a U-Haul, driving to a farm in western Massachusetts, and delivering fresh produce to a local food pantry.
While managing Full Belly Foods, Ben also excelled in a merchandising role at Walmart, where he grew a $500 million business into a $700 million enterprise within a year. After spending five years in merchandising, Ben decided to put his full time and energy into combatting food insecurity with Full Belly Foods. His dedication to effective negotiation and cost management drives Full Belly Foods' mission to maximize food donations for those in need.
